Meet Your Coach, Liz Joyce

I help dog handlers get faster, stronger, and more injury resilient.
I build the strength, endurance, and control you need so your fitness directly supports your handling.

I understand what you need as a handler, and how to get you there.
With 20+ years as a certified personal trainer, 20,000+ in-person coaching hours, and the last decade focused on dog sport handlers, your training is built for the demands of the sport.

It’s about building the strength and fitness handlers actually need.
So when you step into the ring, your body is ready to move, react, and support your handling.

If you want structure, support, and results you can feel in the ring, you’re in the right place.

I love the injury prevention focus of this course—it’s so thorough! You have a real gift of working on the WHOLE human. I haven’t felt this good in years. Started for my dog, now I’m doing it for me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting faster isn’t just about trying harder, it’s about getting stronger and more controlled in how you run. When you build leg strength and core strength, you can produce more power with each step. When you improve control, sprinting feels smoother and easier. That’s when speed really starts to show up on course.

Because what you do is unique. You’re not just running, you’re accelerating, decelerating, changing direction, and handling your dog at the same time. That requires a mix of speed work, agility drills, and strength training that actually transfers to the ring, plus workouts that fit into a handler’s real life from a time commitment perspective.

You’re not alone, I hear this all the time. It’s usually not that you’re not trying hard enough. It’s more often that your body isn’t quite set up to generate and control speed yet. Once we clean up mechanics and build strength, you’ll feel like you have more time out there.

You want training that builds strength for sprinting and control for movement. That means lower body strength (like squats, lunges, and step-ups), core work that helps you stay stable while moving, and balance training especially single-leg work. Add short sprint efforts and simple agility-style drills without your dog to practice movement patterns safely.
